A custom 9.25” diameter hemispheric observing dome made from BK-7 grade mineral glass which is finely ground and coated to the highest standard of precision. The geometry and size of this dome is meant to accommodate the ultra-wide field of view fisheye lenses of all Keo Scientific all-sky imagers, without obscuring parts of the field of view.
The dome is coated with a superior Silicon Oxide coating (SiO2) on the convex surface and with a Broad Band Anti Reflective (BBAR) coating on the concave surface. The SiO2 coating is an extremely resistant type of coating with a 0.01% reflective index, providing unparalleled light transmission. Both the SiO2 and BBAR coatings not only prevent internal and external reflections but also protect the surface from scratches, thereby extracting maximum optical performance from your Keo Scientific airglow imager. As opposed to most acrylic (plexiglass) domes, this glass dome is truly Optical Grade, in that is introduces no image distortion/warping across the field.
The geometry and size of this dome is meant to accommodate the ultra-wide field of view fisheye lenses of all Keo Scientific all-sky imagers, without obscuring parts of the field of view. The dome will also accommodate optional accessories, like the Keo SunShield.
The dome is provided on an aluminum mounting flange with a basic bolt circle for easy mounting. The flange can be modified to meet your unique requirements.
9.25” diameter hemispheric observing dome accommodates all Keo Sentry3 and Sentry4 imagers, with or without Keo SunShield.
BK-7 mineral glass with SiO2 and BBAR anti-reflective (AR) coatings provides ultra-high light transmission (99%) and scratch resistance.
